What inspires you as a photographer or artist? Have you stopped to consider all the things that influence your work? Artists are constantly inspired by the music they listen to, the people they encounter and even the places they visit or have yet to visit.
Where else might our creativity stem from? What does it mean to you and your work? Take a moment to think of all the things you have encountered over the years that makes you tick. As an ode to creativity today, I will share a few of my inspirations with you. Maybe something I share with you today will end up being a staple of inspiration for yourself. I welcome everyone to share your favorite inspirations too!
#1 Audrey Kawasaki – Audrey Kawasaki is a Los Angeles-based painter, known for her distinctive, erotically charged portrayals of young, adolescent women. Her works are oil paintings painted directly onto wood panels, and her style has been described as a fusion of Art Nouveau and Japanese manga. “Audrey Kawasaki.” Wikipedia.
#2 Lara Jade Photography – Lara Jade is an internationally acclaimed fashion, portrait and commercial photographer. Lara’s most compelling quality is the ability to colour her images with strong elements of romanticism, fantasy and a hint of darkness. Seamless Photo. “Lara Jade.” Seamless. Seamless Photo LTD, n.d. #3 Elie Saab – (Arabic: إيلي صعب) (born July 4, 1964), sometimes known simply as ‘ES’, is a Lebanese fashion designer. His main workshop is in Lebanon, with additional workshops in Milan and Paris. Wikipedia. “Elie Saab.” Wikipedia. Wikimedia Foundation, 03 June 2014. Web. 11 Mar. 2014.
